Daily writing prompt
Are you more of a night or morning person?

I suppose if I was forced by circumstances, I could become one or the other. Although, I am one of those people that does not really rely on an alarm and just allows enough sleep to wake me up. I do use a shaker to give me that safety net and initial jolt to wake up, but it does not rise me out of the bed, enough sleep does.

I worked a night shift job for years, and one of the perks was that I was awake during the late morning and early afternoon before reporting for work when most of the world was still at work and it was nice to go to town and not feel like I was part of the sardine cannery. It was a good time.

But, I like waking up early in the morning, it feels more accomplished and when I do it right, it gives me peaceful time with God, then when I go into the gym, it is also my time to workout as if Jesus is my training partner. It can be incredibly peaceful in the morning. Although, I still have to be at work before the sun rises, one day I would like to work for myself or have a job that will allow me to experience the sun’s warm rays daily.

But, I would make that adjustment to being a night owl again, if I needed to do that for a job or family reasons. I will still try to prioritize the same quality habits; sleep, prayer and Bible study, exercise and spending time with my dog and loved ones.
