Working Out

Tomorrow is my ‘Push Day” workout. I have gotten pretty good results from trying a puh/pull/legs/upper/lower and see myself making progress with the current program that I wrote for myself. I hope to see several weeks of steady progress on the way to being the way I would like to be.

Now, I am largely sticking to most of the main movers, but ahave been playing around with different assistance movements to find what works best for me. One thing I am incorporating into my upper body days is at least 1-2 lower body movements at the end as little finishers.

My goal is to add some girth, weight and balance to my legs. I would also like to be able to gain some athleticism, to be able to jump over or upon obstacles. I already have a decent motor, from being on my legs for hours everyday and using them to push and pull heavy things. So, they have to be trained harder than they are used to. Hence, the reason for incorporating them into all workouts.

I worked with my dad over the weekend trying to loosen overtorqued lug nuts on a semi to change out the tires and it taught me that I need to do plenty of deadlifts too, maybe that would’ve helped a bit more. I also need to practice some sandbag loading onto truck beds, to stimualte loading really heavy and awkward items onto trucks. I want to have that “easy strength” that picks up heavy things like it is a lightweight.

I am grateful for the lessons that taught me what I need to work on. Life is full of lessons that point us to what needs to be ironed out or worked on. Do not ignore them.
