The Bible

Daily writing prompt
What book are you reading right now?

I am reading my Bible, one that I bought a year or so ago and the pages have not been worn or highlighted or underlined, yet. I am trying to analog my life a little more everyday, and the Bible that I have used the last several years has been the YouVersion Bible app. No doubt , it is wonderful for connecting and doing Bible study with other Christians and I will continue to use it.

However, there is a timelessness from carefully reading the verses in a paper Bible and allowing it to speak to you, to slide your finger under each line and really mediate on it. When you are reading a Bible instead of an app on your phone, there is more focus, since there is no temptation to close the app and check out something else real quick, which never ends up being “real quick”.

As it is November and less than 2 months before the end of 2025, it would be a good way to get my habits (the ones I want) trained into my routine before the new year starts. This morning I did the Kairos journal and Bible study before doing my workout and that gave me a wonderful peace while doing my workout. I am training to be disciplined for God, to have endurance, to handle myself well in all situations. That starts with allowing God/s word to steep into my conscious and living by my faith.

Being disciplined means a victorious heart.
