As someone that hs had dogs all of his life, they are truly a blessing, for a mulitude of reasons. They lift your spirits when you come home from work, you look forward to getting home to the company of your dog. They know your routines and put your actions together and know exactly what you are thinking of doing. They can help prod you out of depression or whatever rabbit hole you have dug yourself into. They are a true blessing from God.
A few months ago, I had to put to sleep my dog Grit. Years ago, when I worked in Oklahoma caring for horses, he would follow me and guard the entrance of each stall as I cleaned it out, he waa loyal and protective. I miss him and sometimes still catch myself calling my brother’s dog Grit instead of Scout.
Cash is my only dog now, he has been on my side since 2019, and is one smart dog. It will be a long write up on all his attributes. When you watch a dog catch a frisbee on the fly, you can sense the pure joy, and also the disappointment when they don’t have the best day.
Dogs will always be a part of my life.
